Foam is expensive, but believe me it’s the best. I had back surgery in November and I had a pillow top mattress I couldn’t lay on my back when I was on that bed. I had to shell out the money for a foam mattress, which I actually got on sail and was cheaper then the regular mattresses, and now I can sleep on my back and my back feel so much better. Honestly look around, if you are just looking for a mattress and not a box spring with it you might be able to get a good deal on a foam mattress. I got mine at Mattress Discounters, I paid about $500 for a queen TempurPedic mattress. That was cheaper then the regular mattress they had.
